Request for Aerial/Satellite Background Maps on TMP and Worksite Extent Views
Customer reported inability to access aerial/satellite background maps on TMP and Worksite extent views, despite functionality on planning map. Feature request for future implementation to enhance visualization capabilities.

I just saw this post when I went to make a similar one. It would be incredibly helpful to have these options when editing layout extent as the satellite view maps it much easier to work out where a specific section of road is buy using topographical reference points to determine the works/impact extent. this might be houses in urban environments or lakes, rivers, distinctive vegetation etc in rural environments. This has become a much more common issue now that NZTA nationwide use myworksites and a significant proportion of state highway roads are in the middle of nowhere, with very limited reference points to show an impact’’s location

Thank you very much for providing this feedback. And we do agree with you - using a map becomes much more functional when topographic or landscape features are visible. And we are currently working towards making this happen.
The new Roadspace Booking (RSB) functioanlity which is being piloted with Auckland Transport and NZTA, and is already implemented with the Wellington Transport Alliance, will have this functionality as well.

An aerial view is already visible for the Worksite Extent maps. A side-ways arrow in the top left corner should allow you to open a side-panel where users can change the basemap.
