Allow the changing of Worksite start dates to avoid penalties and improve quality of data

Currently the only way for you to update the planned work start is to create a revision - which is a bit of a barrier and it takes a few days for the RCA to process. If myWorksites were to accept start date changes (thus changing when the penalties kick in) without you having to go through a revision process it would improve the quality of data around start dates plus help people avoid fees.

Thanks for raising this — the friction around date changes and the impact on data quality is something we've been thinking about too.

We're not planning to remove the revision requirement, but we believe an upcoming feature — Road Space Bookings — addresses the underlying problem. It will allow applicants to signal planned and actual on-site presence separately from the application itself, meaning work windows can stay broad and indicative without sacrificing the accuracy RCAs need day-to-day.

Rolling out in phases this year. We'll update this idea as more detail becomes available.

Ngā mihi, Eila and the myWorksites team
